Elder Care Coordinators is a private geriatric care management company. ECC's goal is to find the most appropriate and cost effective interventions for elders. The primary service area is Eastern Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire. Elder Care Coordinators works exclusively for its clients. Case Management

Elder Care Coordinators can be as involved as clients require. Providing assessment, care planning, implementation of the care plan and monitoring are key components to the service. Home care plans may involve arranging for in-home services, such as: home health aide, companion, home delivered meals and transportation.

Elder Care Coordinators Insurance Review

Insurance Review

Elder Care Coordinators will provide a layman's understanding of all insurances which affect elders. Specifically, the role Medicare and Medicaid play in an elder's insurance profile. Elder Care Coordinators will also provide analysis of long term care insurance and supplemental (Medigap) insurance.

Elder Care Coordinators Professional Liaison

Professional Liaison

Elder Care Coordinators will recommend and work with physicians, attorneys and accountants. Involvement may include doctor's visits or consultations regarding estate planning.

Elder Care Coordinators will review all options available, paying special attention to financial factors and personal preferences. ECC can facilitate all transfers from the hospital or home to long-term care facilities. Once a client is placed, we can monitor care to insure its appropriateness.

Margaret V. Shaheen

Margaret comes to Elder Care Coordinators with 35 years of gerontological experience. Margaret was an executive director of an urban home care service. She also managed the second largest home care corporation in Massachussets. In addition, she was involved with the creation of the first managed care program for elders in the city of Boston. As a licensed nursing home administrator she has consulted on numerous cases regarding regulatory and care issues.

Margaret is certified as a care manager and holds the title of Advanced Professional with the Aging Life Care Association. Margaret served on the boards of the North Andover Council on Aging, Mass. Gerontological Society and The German Old Folks Home. She currently serves as Board Chair of Mary Immaculate Health Care Services in Lawrence, MA.

She has a degree in Sociology from The College of the Holy Cross and a Masters in Human Service Management, concentrating in aging; from Brandeis University. Bringing together the medical, social and economic needs of elders is what she does best.
